For Better or For Worse:
Whenever you read this message, it will be present day. We are in the now. I don’t have a road map of the future. I have notions and ideas, hopes and aspirations, but I do not possess all the keys to this mystery that stands before us.
I realize what I do have today is the luxury of time, and at any given moment this may change too, but the greatest gift given me is my time on this earth. It is my life’s currency. What we will do with it now will undoubtedly dictate our realities, inform our collective emotional state and solidify our truths. I gratefully stand with every industry colleague and every member of my country and this universe we live and love in, knowing no matter the obstacles we face, on the path of time the truth will out.
Our industry, our city, our people habitually rise up to meet every challenge. It is what we do. It is what we have always done as a people. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, New York is my geographical spouse.
There is no more important message I can share today other than that we strive to do our best to be present. The past is gone, there is nothing to gain in future-tripping, we have only this present day–together we need only make the most of it, and the world will follow.
